Estimated at Rs. 42,014 million, construction started in September 2022 and is expected to complete by February 2026. As of December 2025, the project is under implementation, with Vishwa Samudra Engineering Pvt Ltd as the contractor.

With an estimated investment of Rs. 380 million, the project has received consent from the state pollution control authorities as of May 2025 for its establishment.

    The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways plans to develop a new six-lane expressway in Jammu and Kashmir. The project includes the development of the Jakh (Vijaypur)-Kunjwani section of NH-44 and NH-144A, with an estimated cost of Rs. 18217.2 million. The project has been sanctioned by the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and will enhance connectivity, promote tourism and trade, and create job opportunities in the region.
