    A new standalone battery energy storage system project with a cumulative installed capacity of 1 GWh is being implemented in Bihar at an investment of Rs 11280 million. The project has been awarded by NTPC Ltd under a tariff-based competitive bidding process and will be executed on a build-own-operate basis. The project includes deployment of advanced battery storage infrastructure for grid stabilisation and renewable energy integration. The system is scheduled for phased commissioning within 18 months from the signing of the battery energy storage purchase agreement.
