Odisha Signs ₹67,000 Crore MoC with ACME Group and Japan's IHI Corporation for Green Ammonia and Methanol Projects
The Odisha Government has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with ACME Group and Japan's IHI Corporation for multiple industrial projects with an estimated cumulative investment of ₹67,000 crore. The agreement covers collaboration in clean energy, advanced manufacturing and industrial development across the state, and is expected to generate employment for around 7,000 people, according to the Industries Department.
The proposed developments include a 0.4 MTPA green ammonia project at Gopalpur–Tata SEZ, involving an investment of ₹20,000 crore. This project also includes jetty-less floating terminal infrastructure, with an additional investment of ₹1,000 crore.
The partners have further proposed a 0.8 MTPA green ammonia project at Paradip, involving an investment of ₹34,000 crore and carrying an employment potential of 3,600 people.
The collaboration additionally includes a methanol project with an investment of ₹12,000 crore.
The projects are intended to strengthen Odisha's clean energy and industrial ecosystem, support technology transfer and advanced manufacturing through Japanese participation, and create opportunities for MSMEs and ancillary industries in the state.
