Construction Begins on ₹16,350 Crore JSW Rayalaseema Integrated Steel Plant in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh

Construction has commenced on the JSW Rayalaseema Integrated Steel Plant at Sunnapuralla Palli, Yerraguntla mandal, Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh. The project was launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

JSW Andhra Pradesh Steel Limited is developing the integrated steel plant at an estimated investment of ₹16,350 crore, spread across an anticipated 1,100 acres. The project will be executed in two phases: the first phase involves an investment of ₹4,500 crore, and the second phase will involve an additional ₹11,850 crore.

The facility will use scrap-based electric arc furnace technology powered by renewable energy. The project includes a dedicated 15-km pipeline from the Gandikota reservoir to supply 2 TMC of water annually, along with supporting road, rail and port connectivity infrastructure.

The plant is expected to strengthen steel manufacturing infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh and expand industrial capacity in the Rayalaseema region through its phased development.
