Belding India Forms Joint Venture with HD Fabcon to Enter Battery Storage and Renewable Energy Sector
Belding India has announced the incorporation of a new subsidiary, Belding HD India, through a joint venture with HD Fabcon, marking its entry into the battery energy storage system (BESS) and renewable energy segment.
Under the partnership, Belding India will hold a 55 per cent stake in the new entity, while HD Fabcon will hold the remaining 45 per cent. The joint venture is structured to combine HD Fabcon's business development and market access capabilities with Belding India's execution, operations, project management and manufacturing strengths, delivered through its group entities.
Belding HD India will focus on identifying, securing, executing and managing projects across the energy sector, with priority given to scalable opportunities, large-scale projects and long-term strategic customer relationships. No specific project sites, capacities or investment figures have been disclosed at this stage.
Belding India, formerly known as Synthiko Foils, currently operates in the pharmaceutical packaging sector, engaged in slitting, lamination, coating and printing of aluminium foils. The company reported a consolidated net loss of ₹4.65 crore for the quarter ended March 2026, against a net loss of ₹0.13 crore in the corresponding period a year earlier, with fourth-quarter FY26 sales at ₹0.03 crore.
The joint venture marks Belding India's diversification into energy-related infrastructure, reflecting a broader trend of companies entering the renewable power and storage space as India's clean energy capacity build-out accelerates.
