    A greenfield 4800 MW (6x800 MW) coal-based ultra super-critical thermal power plant is proposed across Surguja and Surajpur districts of Chhattisgarh, involving total land requirement of about 673.5 hectares including forest land. The proposal, filed for Terms of Reference, is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change with baseline environmental data collection yet to begin. Land has been allotted by the state industrial corporation and possession is being formalized through an intra-group MoU ahead of construction.

    A 25 MW CFBC-based coal-fired captive thermal power plant is proposed within an existing integrated steel manufacturing complex to meet in-house electricity requirements. The proposal has been accepted and referred to the Expert Appraisal Committee by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for review. Non-forest land of 8.09 hectares has already been acquired for the project within the existing industrial premises.
