NOVA Control Technologix to Invest ₹100 Crore in Railway Signalling, Train Protection and OT Cybersecurity R&D
NOVA Control Technologix, a wholly owned subsidiary of e2E Rail, has announced plans to invest more than ₹100 crore over the next few years in research and development of next-generation railway safety systems. The investment will target indigenous capabilities in railway signalling, train protection and operational technology (OT) cybersecurity.
The move comes as Indian Railways accelerates deployment of the KAVACH train protection system and expands digitisation across rail operations, increasing the relevance of cybersecurity as a core safety layer alongside signalling and communication systems.
According to the company, the investment will be directed toward strengthening in-house R&D capabilities and developing indigenous deep-tech solutions spanning railway safety, signalling, cybersecurity and digital railway technologies. Vinay Rao, promoter-chairman of e2E Rail, said the focus will be on building intellectual property and technological self-reliance within India, with an eye toward future export opportunities in global rail markets.
As part of its growth strategy, NOVA is evaluating strategic partnerships and acquisitions in railway technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and related advanced engineering domains. The company is currently collaborating with Tata Elxsi to integrate cybersecurity capabilities into railway signalling and safety systems.
