Gujarat Approves ₹629 Crore Road Upgradation Project to Four-Lane Six Road Stretches in Kutch District
The Gujarat government has approved a ₹629 crore road upgradation project in Kutch district, sanctioned by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel under the state's road infrastructure development programme. The project involves widening six key road stretches across the district into four-lane corridors, with a combined length of 64.2 km.
The six road stretches covered under the project are: 4.1 km of the Mundra–Luni Vadala Road, 5.1 km of the Deshalpar–Siracha Road, 5.5 km of the Mundra–Zarpara–Kandagara–Dhrab Road, 3.3 km of the Zarpara village bypass, 4.5 km of the Kandagara Mota village road, and a 20 km section of the Mundra–Zarpara–Kandagara Road.
Several of the corridors being upgraded serve as key links between Mundra Port and the surrounding industrial belt. The upgradation is intended to improve freight movement efficiency, reduce travel bottlenecks, and strengthen last-mile logistics connectivity in the district.
The project forms part of Gujarat's broader effort to develop road infrastructure in Kutch, a district that has seen significant industrial and port-led growth. Procurement timelines and the implementing agency for construction have not been disclosed in the approval announcement.
