AIG Hospitals Lays Foundation Stone for ₹2,000 Crore, 1,000-Bed Greenfield Campus in Visakhapatnam
Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, along with AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr D Nageshwar Reddy, laid the foundation stone for a new hospital campus at Endada in Visakhapatnam on August 31, 2026. AIG Hospitals is set to invest ₹2,000 crore over the next five years to build a 1,000-bed greenfield multi-speciality hospital, expected to create employment for around 9,000 people at full operations.
The hospital will be developed in two phases. The first phase, comprising Towers A and B with 650 beds, is expected to be operational by October 2028. The second phase, Tower C with a further 350 beds, will follow within the next two to three years, taking total capacity to 1,000 beds.
The campus will span nine acres and is designed to handle around 5,000 outpatient consultations a day, offering more than 50 medical specialities through eight Centres of Excellence, along with 150 critical-care beds and 50 emergency beds. A dedicated mother-and-child care unit is also planned. At full operations, the facility is expected to employ around 1,000 doctors.
Alongside the hospital, AIG Hospitals plans to establish a nursing college on an adjacent 2.5-acre plot, integrating medical training, education, research and healthcare delivery within a single campus. The project is intended to bring advanced and specialised healthcare services closer to patients in Andhra Pradesh and reduce the need to travel to Hyderabad for treatment.
