DMRC Begins Construction of 12.377 Km Inderlok-Indraprastha Underground Metro Corridor Under Phase IV
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has commenced construction of the 12.377-km Inderlok-Indraprastha Metro corridor in Delhi, forming part of Delhi Metro's Phase IV expansion. The fully underground corridor will comprise 10 stations and will connect seven metro lines across the network.
The corridor will provide interchanges with the Red Line and Green Line at Inderlok, the Magenta Line at Nabi Karim, the Yellow Line and Airport Express Line at New Delhi, the Violet Line at Delhi Gate, and the Blue Line at Indraprastha. The extension will increase the Magenta Line's total length to nearly 89 km, making it the longest corridor in the Delhi Metro network. The line will operate with driverless metro trains.
DMRC has also started the first construction activity at the proposed Sarai Rohilla Metro station, building the diaphragm wall for the underground station.
The Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor is expected to strengthen connectivity across Central Delhi and the National Capital Region, improving access to major transport hubs and destinations including New Delhi Railway Station, Sarai Rohilla Railway Station, India Gate, Kartavya Path, Delhi Secretariat, and Arun Jaitley Stadium. The corridor supports the ongoing expansion of Delhi Metro's Phase IV network.
