UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026: Escorts Kubota, Spark Minda Break Ground on ₹3,191 Crore YEIDA Projects; 500-Acre Japan City Planned Near Noida
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the inaugural session of the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 in New Delhi, calling for a deeper industrial partnership between the state and Japan. The event, attended by more than 200 Japanese investors and business representatives led by Yamanashi Governor Kotaro Nagasaki, saw groundbreaking ceremonies for two major manufacturing projects in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region.
Escorts Kubota Limited, a joint venture between Escorts Limited and Japan's Kubota Corporation, has been allotted 154 acres in YEIDA Sector 10 for a manufacturing facility involving an investment of around ₹2,029 crore. The plant is planned to produce approximately 60,000 tractors annually along with tractor and agricultural machinery components, and is expected to create close to 4,000 jobs.
Spark Minda Group, through Minda Corporation, will set up two projects in YEIDA Sectors 10 and 24 with a combined investment of around ₹1,166 crore. The facilities are planned to manufacture nearly two million units annually, including ignition switch-cum-steering locks, mechatronic components, wiring harnesses, electronic switches, sensors and USB chargers, with an expected job creation of around 6,440.
Together, the Escorts Kubota and Minda Corporation projects represent a combined investment of ₹3,191 crore and are projected to generate more than 10,000 jobs, reinforcing UP's Japanese manufacturing ecosystem.
