Power Generation Aug 20,2026

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited competitive bids for the supply and installation of wind turbine generators (WTGs) for a 600 MW nominal-capacity Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind energy project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.

The project will comprise 200 WTGs, each with a minimum rated capacity of 3 MW. The selected bidder will handle detailed design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, installation, testing and commissioning of ALMM-listed turbines, along with control panels, SCADA and associated control systems. The scope also covers design, supply and commissioning of unit substations for each WTG, grid-integration electrical works, and associated civil works including tower and substation foundations.

The contract includes 10 years of comprehensive operation and maintenance for the supplied WTGs and unit substations, starting from project commissioning. Bidding follows a domestic competitive process under a Single Stage Two Envelope system, with technical and price bids submitted separately.

The tender document, identified as IFB No. NRE-CS-5924-003(WTG)-9, was available for download from August 19 to August 29, 2026. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 1, 2026, and bids are due by September 15, 2026. NTPC REL has fixed an Earnest Money Deposit of ₹50 crore for the package.

The project forms part of NTPC Group's wider push to scale up its renewable energy portfolio through NTPC REL, adding to the group's existing wind and solar developments connected to the ISTS network in Andhra Pradesh and other states.
