    A joint venture between a major Indian shipbuilder and a Dubai-based ship repair firm will take over and expand an existing International Ship Repair Facility at Willingdon Island, Kochi. The facility, valued at Rs. 18000 Million, will see ten additional workstations added to its current six. The JV is set to be incorporated as a private limited company with operations to follow regulatory and shareholder approvals.

    A new mega shipbuilding hub costing ₹25,000 million is planned for Raichak, West Bengal along the Hooghly river. Featuring a 200-metre dry dock, the facility will construct warships up to 200 metres and commercial vessels up to 60,000 DWT. The foundation stone was laid in August 2026, boosting national defence manufacturing capabilities.

    A large block fabrication facility is planned on 18.16 acres of leased land near Kochi to pre-outfit, paint, and finish steel ship blocks before assembly at a new dry dock. The investment of around ₹5,000 crore is expected to generate around 2,000 direct jobs and further indirect employment. The project has been cleared by the state government following discussions with the shipyard, with construction expected to boost the shipbuilding sector.

    A tender has been issued to develop a second container terminal at a major port on the east coast, to be built under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) model with a 40-year concession period. The facility is planned to handle vessels up to 24,000 TEUs with a maximum length overall of 400 metres. The project is aimed at meeting rising export-import and transhipment demand in line with the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.

    A ₹86.49 crore captive jetty is proposed near Village Bagasara, Taluka Maliya, District Morbi, Gujarat, inside Chach creek, Gulf of Kutch, about 20 km north-east of Navlakhi Port, for handling salt cargo and other allied commodities. The project involves 17.3 hectares of non-forest government land and is designed for a cargo handling capacity of about 30 lakh tonnes per annum, supporting the company's plan to scale salt production to 1.2 million tonnes by 2030 and export capacity to 3 million tonnes by 2040.
