    A state maritime authority is expanding one of the world's largest ship recycling yards at Alang-Sosiya in Gujarat, raising annual dismantling capacity from about 4 MLDT to 9 MLDT. The expansion involves development of additional ship recycling plots, upgraded utilities, road connectivity, and a treatment/disposal facility for hazardous waste generated during recycling operations.

The expansion also involves reclamation and strengthening of low-lying land behind the jetty. The proposal is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for Environmental Clearance

    A ₹86.49 crore captive jetty is proposed near Village Bagasara, Taluka Maliya, District Morbi, Gujarat, inside Chach creek, Gulf of Kutch, about 20 km north-east of Navlakhi Port, for handling salt cargo and other allied commodities. The project involves 17.3 hectares of non-forest government land and is designed for a cargo handling capacity of about 30 lakh tonnes per annum, supporting the company's plan to scale salt production to 1.2 million tonnes by 2030 and export capacity to 3 million tonnes by 2040.

    A greenfield deep draft captive port and jetty with allied infrastructure is being developed at Suvali (Shivrampur) village near Hazira in Surat district, Gujarat, designed to handle around 60 million tonnes per annum of cargo including break bulk raw materials and finished steel products. The project is currently under Environmental Clearance review with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change after having secured Terms of Reference, with land acquisition for the ~331 hectare site still in progress. Construction is yet to commence, with the project expected to generate significant construction-phase and operational employment once cleared.

    A new solid cargo jetty development project featuring an 8 MTPA bulk cargo capacity is being established at Chhara Port, Gir Somnath District, Gujarat. Estimated at Rs. 40,845 million, the marine project received environmental clearance from MoEFCC in July 2026. Construction activity is slated to run from December 2026 through December 2029.
