GE Vernova Bags 100 MW Wind Turbine Supply Contract for Botad Wind Farm in Gujarat from Powerica
GE Vernova has received a 100 MW wind turbine supply order from Powerica Limited for the Botad Wind Farm in Gujarat. The contract covers the supply and installation of 28 units of GE Vernova's 3.8 MW-154m onshore wind turbine, which is being deployed in India for the first time. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The 3.8 MW-154m turbine platform has been engineered for a 30-year operational lifespan and incorporates enhanced lightning protection systems alongside an AI-powered digital blade certification process that enables real-time quality monitoring during manufacturing and operation. The turbine can be installed using tubular steel towers and 650-tonne crane capabilities, designed to simplify project execution for wind farm developers.
The entire order will be fulfilled from GE Vernova's wind turbine manufacturing facility in Pune, where annual production capacity is expected to reach up to 1,500 MW once the facility is fully operational. GE Vernova also operates a blade manufacturing facility in Vadodara and a technology centre in Bengaluru, giving the company a multi-location manufacturing and engineering footprint in India.
The Botad order builds on an existing relationship between GE Vernova and Powerica Limited, who have previously collaborated on three wind energy projects. Separately, GE Vernova has received ALMM certification from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, which is a mandatory requirement for wind turbine manufacturers to participate in India's utility-scale wind energy sector. GE Vernova's wind business surpassed 5 GW of cumulative installed capacity in India during 2025.
