A new grain-based ethanol plant is set to be established in Hegasanahalli, Raichur, Karnataka. The 200 KLPD plant, along with a 4.5 MW co-generation power plant, is estimated to cost around Rs.2401.5 million. The project aims to produce ethanol from grains, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, promote renewable energy sources, and generate new employment opportunities. Construction activities will begin in May 2023, and environmental clearance for the project is still underway as of April 2023.
