    A new all-weather, deep-water multipurpose port is planned for Choumukh, Odisha, situated at the Subarnarekha River mouth. The Rs. 53,620 million project features advanced deep-draft berths and automated handling systems. Construction is set for January 2027 to December 2028, following the environmental clearance submission to state authorities as of March 2026.

The project involves installation of a vessel-based LNG storage and regasification facility to support gas supply and energy infrastructure in the region. The development will be executed at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port under an agreement with the port authority and will help strengthen LNG handling capabilities and energy logistics in eastern India.
