The project is under environmental appraisal with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change following an amendment to its Terms of Reference, with no construction activity yet commenced as per the applicant's undertaking.

The facility targets a production capability of 1200 MTPA of sintered NdFeB permanent magnets by FY 2033. The collaboration aims to reduce India's import dependence on high-performance magnets used in EVs, wind turbines, defence systems and electronics.
