Lucknow's ambitious 28km green corridor project has entered its second phase which will link the western and central parts of the city to improve urban mobility and reduce traffic congestion.
The green corridor, which starts from IIM Road and extends till Hardings Bridge, is now being extended towards Daliganj.
Except for a 50-metre stretcch left incomplete due to ongoing work by Jal Kal department, a 6.8 kn long four lane road between IIM Road and Hardinge Bridge is operational for the past three months.
"An allocation of Rs 200 crore has been made and the project team has set up makeshift offices, a soil testing lab, and a storage unit equipped with heavy machinery. Initial soil testing has been completed to ensure appropriate construction measures," said project director, Lucknow Development Authority, AK Senger.
The second phase will include a 1.7 km-long four-lane road. This segment is designed to bypass the ASI-protected Residency and will merge near Mankameshwar temple.
