Suzlon to Invest ₹10,000 Crore in 1,325 MW Wind Energy Project in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh
Suzlon is set to invest ₹10,000 crore in new wind power projects in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district. The company will develop 1,325 MW of wind energy capacity at Govindawada, located in the Rayadurg Assembly constituency.
As part of the expansion, Suzlon's new S144 blade manufacturing lines at Hulikere village in Kanekal mandal are scheduled for inauguration on August 25, 2026, by Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh. The expansion is expected to generate around 4,000 direct and indirect jobs.
Suzlon currently holds an installed capacity of more than 1,700 MW across Andhra Pradesh, making it the state's largest wind energy partner. The company plans to add a further 5,000 MW of renewable energy capacity in the state by 2030.
Suzlon has maintained manufacturing operations in Anantapur since 2004. Its rotor blade facility at Ippuru in Kuderu mandal supports wind power projects developed with partners including Tata Power. The Anantapur blade manufacturing facility accounts for nearly 40% of Suzlon's blade production, with an annual capacity of 1,260 MW. The company has invested around ₹12,000 crore in the region to date and employs more than 2,200 people locally.
Suzlon supplies over 70 customers, including Tata Power, Waaree Forever Energies, Helios Infratech, Jindal Aluminium, Asian Paints and ReNew Wind Energy. The company is also setting up Wind Energy Learning Centres at Uravakonda and Vijayawada, in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government, to train close to 12,000 professionals as part of a green skill development initiative.
