Andhra Pradesh Approves ₹31,387 Crore, 512 MW Green AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam
The Andhra Pradesh government has approved AM AI Factory (Vizag) Pvt Ltd to establish a 512-MW green integrated AI data centre in Visakhapatnam district, involving an investment of over ₹31,387 crore. The approval was issued through a Government Order by IT Secretary Bhaskar Katamneni.
The facility is proposed to come up at Amanam village in Bheemunipatnam mandal and is expected to be completed within two years and four months of approval. The project is expected to generate employment for up to 1,000 people.
The project has been categorised as a Mega Project under Andhra Pradesh's Data Centre Policy 4.0 (2024-29). The state government will provide non-fiscal incentives including power infrastructure support and water supply, along with fiscal incentives such as exemption from stamp duty and electricity duty.
This project is separate from the gigawatt-scale AI hub that Google is developing in Visakhapatnam in partnership with AdaniConneX and Nxtra by Airtel, as part of Google's wider India investment plans for 2026-2030. The concentration of large data centre projects in the region is expected to build out an ecosystem around power, connectivity, cloud computing, construction and specialised technical services.
The approval adds to Andhra Pradesh's broader push to attract large-scale investments across technology, digital infrastructure, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing, positioning Visakhapatnam as a growing hub for data centre development on India's east coast.
