Delhi Government Approves ₹1,668 Crore Dheerpur Campus for Ambedkar University
The Delhi Government has approved the proposed Dheerpur campus of Dr B R Ambedkar University Delhi at an estimated cost of ₹1,668 crore. The project will be developed in Dheerpur, Delhi. According to the university, the approval has accelerated a project that had remained in the pipeline for several years.
Construction is expected to be completed in around three years, subject to timelines finalized by the Public Works Department (PWD).
The Dheerpur campus will feature modern academic infrastructure designed around student-centric learning principles. Planned facilities include technology-enabled teaching spaces, collaborative work areas, open discussion zones and co-learning spaces.
The university has finalized architectural designs for both the proposed Dheerpur and Rohini campuses, though construction will begin with the Dheerpur campus. The project aims to address space constraints at the university's existing campuses and support future academic expansion.
The new campus is intended to strengthen higher education infrastructure in Delhi, creating capacity for future student growth as part of the university's long-term infrastructure expansion plans.
