Agastya Green Energy to Invest ₹7,800 Crore in 12 GW Ingot and Wafer Manufacturing Plant in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh

Power Generation Aug 17,2026

Agastya Green Energy, a part of the Anubhav Agarwal Group, has announced its expansion into integrated 12 GW ingot and wafer manufacturing at the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, at a project cost of approximately ₹7,800 crore. The company performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the project on August 15, 2026.

The expansion will complement Agastya Energy's existing solar cell and module manufacturing capabilities, establishing 12 GW each of integrated ingot and wafer capacity and strengthening the company's domestic manufacturing footprint in India's solar value chain.

Company leadership described the move as an upstream addition to Agastya Energy's integrated solar manufacturing strategy, bringing together ingot, wafer, cell and module production under one value chain. The company said the integration is intended to deepen domestic value addition, improve manufacturing efficiency, and create synergies across its manufacturing, independent power producer, and EPC businesses.

The project adds to a growing pipeline of upstream solar manufacturing capacity being built in India, as domestic players expand backward into ingot and wafer production to reduce reliance on imports and strengthen India's position in the global photovoltaic supply chain.
