An extensive sponge iron expansion project in Kalunga, Odisha, will increase production capacity to 496,000 TPA. It includes a Pelletization Plant (1,600,000 TPA), M.S. Billets, Rolling Mill, Briquetting Plant, Ferro Alloy Furnace, Metal Recovery Plant, and a 68 MW Captive Power Plant. Estimated at Rs. 6,325 million, construction will begin in June 2024, with completion expected by June 2026. The project has received State Level Single Window Clearance Authority approval.
