A steel company is developing an iron ore pellet plant in Hirma, Jharsuguda, Odisha, with a capacity of 2 × 0.6 MTPA and an associated producer gas plant of 2 × 25,800 Nm³/hr. As of August 2025, the project is expanding to include a rolling mill, pellet plant, captive power plant, DRI plant, and billet plant with an investment of ₹9,900 million. An MoU has been signed with the Maharashtra state government.
