Project summary
An existing integrated steel plant at Kalinga Nagar Industrial Complex is undergoing a major brownfield expansion, with blast furnace capacity being raised from 215,000 TPA to 430,000 TPA, a new 659,000 TPA sinter plant and a 340 TPD air separation unit being added, while DRI, rolling mill and SMS plant capacities remain unchanged. The proposal has been granted Standard ToR by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and is at the environmental appraisal stage prior to construction. The project is entirely within the existing plant premises, so no additional land or alternative site was required.
