The scheme utilizes the available river flow at proposed dam site about 380 m downstream of the confluence of Dikhu and Yangnyu rivers and gross head of about 106 m between Dam site and tailrace outfall about 600 m downstream of the confluence of Dikhu River with Yangnyu river to generate 186 MW with a surface powerhouse
