    The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways plans to develop a dedicated container corridor in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to facilitate swift and efficient evacuation of containers from the region. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 996 million, and it will be implemented on the EPC route. The project is in the development stage as of February 2022, and the DPR/Feasibility study is in progress. The project is expected to boost economic growth, reduce transportation costs and time, and provide job opportunities, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the region.
