    Rs. 9436 Million coal mine capacity expansion from 3.37 MTPA to 5 MTPA at Angul district, Odisha

    Odisha From 5000 Million to 49999 Million

    An operational opencast coal mine spread over 575.071 hectares in Angul district, Odisha is proposed to be expanded in capacity from 3.37 MTPA to 5 MTPA in phased increments of 20%, 20% and 10%. The mine has been operational since October 2023 and already achieved peak rated capacity production. The proposal is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Environmental Clearance for the enhancement.

    A new Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor manufacturing unit has been approved for IDCO Infovalley-II, Khordha district, Odisha, spread over 21.889 acres. The unit will produce SiC Diodes and SiC MOSFETs with an investment of Rs. 34062.5 Million, generating around 1,270 jobs. The project has received approval from the Unit Approval Committee under Falta Special Economic Zone jurisdiction.
