    A new integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Facility is proposed at Lunglei-II (Pukpui) in Lunglei District, Mizoram, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0, with a designed capacity of 18943.5 TPA. The project is currently under examination for Terms of Reference (Fresh ToR) with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, with no physical construction commenced yet.

    Municipal Solid Waste Management Centre in Mizoram

    An integrated municipal solid waste management centre with a capacity of about 17,239 tonnes per annum is proposed at Vaisam Veng near Mamit town in Mizoram. The facility, spread over roughly 0.405 hectares of government-owned non-forest land, will feature an engineered sanitary landfill with composite liner, leachate treatment, and stormwater drainage systems. The proposal is currently under examination for Terms of Reference by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, with construction yet to commence.

    A new sanitary landfill facility is being developed at the Siaha District Headquarters, Mizoram, with an investment of Rs. 698.29 million. The project features engineered containment systems for sustainable waste management. Construction is scheduled from October 2026 to February 2028. Currently awaiting environmental clearance, the project offers opportunities for contractors in geo-synthetic liners and specialized wastewater treatment systems.

    Mizoram From 5000 Million to 49999 Million

    A 24 MW small hydroelectric power project is planned on the Tuirini River in Aizawl district, Mizoram, to boost renewable energy capacity. With an estimated investment of Rs.676.98 crore, the project is externally aided via a New Development Bank loan, funded 80% centrally and 20% by the state. Foundation stone is laid, and completion is expected within five years.

    The Government of Mizoram plans a 2400 MW Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project across Darzo Nallah, a tributary of the Tuipui River, with an estimated cost of Rs.13,948 million. The project will feature eight 300 MW units in an on-stream closed-loop system. As of July 2024, a letter of intent for the project has been issued.
