Project summary
An integrated municipal solid waste management centre with a capacity of about 17,239 tonnes per annum is proposed at Vaisam Veng near Mamit town in Mizoram. The facility, spread over roughly 0.405 hectares of government-owned non-forest land, will feature an engineered sanitary landfill with composite liner, leachate treatment, and stormwater drainage systems. The proposal is currently under examination for Terms of Reference by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, with construction yet to commence.
