The mine has been operational since October 2023 and already achieved peak rated capacity production. The proposal is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Environmental Clearance for the enhancement.

Coal will initially be transported by road to the railway siding, shifting to a conveyor system once the coal handling plant is commissioned. The proposal is currently under environmental examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

    A private clean technology firm is developing a ₹20,000 crore coal gasification complex in Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Approved by the state government, the multi-phase project converts domestic coal into clean chemicals, producing 1,300 TPD of hydrogen alongside large-scale ammonium nitrate, ethanol, urea, and methanol. Key sub-projects include ₹6,976 crore for hydrogen/ammonium nitrate and ₹667 crore for ethanol.
