    Maharashtra From 1000 Million to 4999 Million

    The existing Kolgaon opencast coal mine is being expanded from 0.6 MTPA to 0.8 MTPA production capacity, with mine lease area increasing from 397.25 ha to 520.6 ha across Yenak, Chikhali, Kolgaon, Sakhara and Takli villages in Wani tehsil. The proposal, filed as an amendment in Terms of Reference/Environmental Clearance, is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The expansion is expected to raise permanent operational employment from 103 to 115 personnel once implemented.

    An existing opencast coal mining project in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh is being expanded to raise production capacity from 4 MTPA to 6 MTPA within the same 1266.096 hectare lease area. The expansion involves construction of a new coal handling plant (CHP) and silo, rerouting of a village road and 33 kV power line, and rehabilitation of 957 project-affected families across 5 villages.

    An operational opencast coal mine in Chhattisgarh is undergoing its third phase of capacity enhancement, moving from 4.9 MTPA toward 5.25 MTPA under a 50% expansion provision. The proposal spans 662.15 hectares across villages in Balrampur and Surajpur districts and is currently under examination with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

    Rs.6247 Million Marki Zari Jamani Adkoli Coal Mine in Yavatmal, Maharashtra

    Maharashtra From 5000 Million to 49999 Million

    A new greenfield opencast coal mining project with a rated production capacity of 1.25 MTPA is proposed over a lease area of about 353.50 Ha, including 80.69 Ha of forest land, near Adkoli village in Maharashtra. The proposal is currently under verification with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Environmental Clearance/ToR, with forest diversion approval also in process. Construction/mining operations are likely to commence around April 2027, with an estimated mine life of 17 years extending to 2046.

    Rs.350 Million Wet Coal Washery Capacity Expansion Project in Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh

    Chhattisgarh From 100 Million to 999 Million

    An existing wet-type coal washery at Bhelai Unit-II, Janjgir-Champa district, Chhattisgarh, is being expanded from 2.48 MTPA to 5.00 MTPA capacity on an enlarged plot of about 22.13 acres. The proposal is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Terms of Reference. Total project cost is estimated at Rs. 350 Million, with construction activity expected to follow once clearances are secured.
