Proposed expansion of coal production capacity at the Utkal D and Utkal E Coal Block from 4.0 Million TPA to 4.8 Million TPA, an increase of up to 20%. The mine spans 824.316 hectares (including 312.698 hectares of forest land) across villages in Chhendipada tehsil, Angul district, Odisha. The environment clearance application for the expansion is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
