Expansion at Ispat Damodar's steel unit in West Bengal's Puruliya district includes 2 induction furnaces, increased ferro alloy capacity, Sponge Iron Plant expansion to 165,000 TPA, Iron Ore Beneficiation & Pelletisation Plant (600,000 TPA), Rolling Mill (200,000 TPA), and Cement Grinding Plant (300,000 TPA). The Rs.1900 million project, underway since February 2017, awaits environmental clearance. Current status as of January 2023 indicates further expansion with additions to Ferro Alloy plant, Sponge Iron Plant, CPP, Steel Melting Shop, Rolling Mill, and Cement Grinding Plant at the existing site.
