In Barpali, Tamnar, Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, a new steel plant project aims to produce 330,000 TPA of sponge iron, 194,040 TPA of hot billets/MS billets, and 186,766 TPA of rolled products. Estimated at Rs. 4451 million, the project includes power generation and a fly ash brick plant. As of July 2024, it awaits environmental clearance from India's Ministry of Environment.
