Project summary
An existing integrated steel plant at the Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub in Kurnool district is being expanded from 0.7 MTPA to 1.48 MTPA capacity, adding TMT rebar, alloy steel bar and structural steel production alongside a waste-heat boiler power unit and coke oven plant. The proposal is currently under environmental review by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, with the existing facility already operational and the expansion yet to commence construction. Total land requirement is about 171.6 hectares, with over 2,100 permanent jobs expected once fully operational.
