A greenfield 6.0 MTPA alumina refinery integrated with a 280 MW coal/lignite-based co-generation power plant is proposed across villages in Kalyansinghpur Tahasil, Rayagada district, Odisha. The project involves land requirement of about 625 hectares (including ~115 ha forest land), rehabilitation of 800 project-affected families across 10 villages, and diversion of 5 village roads. The proposal is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Terms of Reference, with construction yet to commence.
