A new grain-based ethanol plant is planned in Navelim, Bicholim, North Goa, Goa, by Melker Tti Biofuels. The proposed project involves the establishment of a 500 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant along with a 15 MW co-generation power plant. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 6100 million and construction activities are scheduled to begin in September 2023 and end in September 2024. As of April 2023, the project is awaiting environmental clearance.
