Project summary
A new greenfield EV battery pack manufacturing facility is being established at Pillaipakkam near Chennai with an investment of about Rs 400–500 crore. The project will manufacture battery packs for electric commercial vehicles to support localisation of EV components and strengthen the domestic electric mobility supply chain. The facility forms part of a broader investment commitment under a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu. Groundbreaking for the project has already taken place and the unit will contribute to advanced EV component manufacturing and ecosystem development in the state.
