Project summary
Madhya Pradesh is planning an entirely new six-lane greenfield expressway between Bhopal and Indore, expected to cut travel time from about four hours to roughly 2.5 hours. The detailed project report and alignment have been approved, and the state government is considering executing the project on its own to avoid delays. The corridor is being fast-tracked partly to be ready ahead of the 2028 Simhastha in Ujjain.
