    A wet-type coal washery is being expanded from 0.96 MTPA to 2.4 MTPA capacity, with a proposed 25 MW AFBC captive power plant addition at the same site. The proposal is currently under verification with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for amendment/expansion environmental clearance. Total land requirement after expansion is about 11.42 hectares, entirely non-forest land.

    Chhattisgarh From 5000 Million to 49999 Million

    A new opencast coal mine spread over 3330.63 Ha across villages in Tamnar and Gharghoda tehsils of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh, with a planned production capacity of 12 MTPA of coal. The project, part of the Mand-Raigarh coalfield block allotted via Ministry of Coal order, is currently at the Terms of Reference stage with forest clearance and land acquisition processes underway. Significant resettlement is anticipated, with 8 villages and over 6,300 affected families identified, and rehabilitation yet to commence.

    Rs.7453 Million Amalgamated Yekona I & II OC Phase-I Coal Mine Expansion Project in Chandrapur, Maharashtra

    Maharashtra From 5000 Million to 49999 Million

    An existing opencast coal mine in Warora taluka, Chandrapur district is being expanded from a sanctioned capacity of 3.85 MTPA to 4.125 MTPA, representing the final tranche of a previously approved 50% capacity enhancement. The project involves land of over 1679 Ha (non-forest), diversion of a nala, irrigation canal, HT line and PWD road, and construction of a dedicated railway siding (expected to be commissioned by March 2027) alongside road transport. The proposal is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Environmental Clearance for the expansion.

    Expansion of an existing opencast coal mine to increase annual production capacity from 4 MTPA to 6 MTPA within the same 1266.096 hectare lease area. The proposal, under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, follows an earlier environmental clearance amendment, with CHP-Silo construction reported in progress and targeted for completion by 2028.

    Rs.2061 Million Kolgaon Expansion (Deep) Opencast Coal Mine Project in Yavatmal district, Maharashtra

    Maharashtra From 1000 Million to 4999 Million

    The existing Kolgaon opencast coal mine is being expanded from 0.6 MTPA to 0.8 MTPA production capacity, with mine lease area increasing from 397.25 ha to 520.6 ha across Yenak, Chikhali, Kolgaon, Sakhara and Takli villages in Wani tehsil. The proposal, filed as an amendment in Terms of Reference/Environmental Clearance, is currently under examination by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The expansion is expected to raise permanent operational employment from 103 to 115 personnel once implemented.
