    Jharkhand From 100 Million to 999 Million

    A major expansion project in Barhi, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, will increase MS billet production capacity from 27,000 TPA to 188,100 TPA and produce 181,500 TPA of TMT bars and rolled products. With an estimated cost of Rs. 444 million, construction will begin in December 2024 and conclude by June 2025. The project has received consent from state pollution control authorities.

    A company plans to expand its sponge iron plant in Mahuatand, Giridih, Jharkhand, increasing production from 33,000 TPA to 62,700 TPA and adding a captive power plant, M.S. billets production, re-rolling mill, and slag crusher unit. The project, costing Rs.158.4 million, is scheduled from August to November 2024, pending environmental clearance.

This includes increasing sponge iron output to 280,500 TPA, billets to 223,000 TPA, and installing a new rolling mill for TMT bars. A 0.8 MTPA pellet plant with a coal gasifier will also be added. Construction is set for April to December 2025, with environmental clearance underway.
