UP Textile Sector Receives ₹5,354 Crore in Approved Investment Proposals, Says Minister Sachan
Uttar Pradesh Textile Industry Minister Rakesh Sachan said on September 8, 2026 that investment proposals worth ₹5,354 crore have been approved for the state's textile sector. The announcement came alongside the state's broader push to develop the sector, including plans for 10 textile parks across Uttar Pradesh.
Sachan said incentives worth ₹322 crore had been provided to around 116 investors under the state's 2017 and 2022 textile industry policies, with an additional ₹96 crore in incentives also extended. Entrepreneurs are being offered capital subsidy, 100 per cent exemption on stamp duty, up to 60 per cent interest subsidy, and concessions on land allotment and electricity, along with subsidies of up to 90 per cent for participation in national and international trade fairs.
The minister highlighted progress on the 1,000-acre PM MITRA Park being developed between Lucknow and Hardoi districts, an integrated textile park under the central government's PM MITRA scheme. Infrastructure work at the site has advanced, with six-lane roads, a 125 kV electricity line and water supply connections reaching the site, and a master developer for the park has been finalised.
Separately, the UP Tex Mitra portal and the Hathkargha Bunkar Samriddhi Yojana were launched at the UP Textile Conclave in Lucknow, where fresh investment proposal MoUs worth ₹5,196 crore were signed, along with Letters of Comfort worth around ₹163 crore and subsidy distribution of about ₹60 crore. Sachan noted that handicraft exports from the state stood at around ₹35,000 crore in FY 2025-26, with more than 2 lakh handloom weavers associated with the sector.
