TrueRE Oriana Power to Invest ₹4,500 Crore in Integrated Green Hydrogen Project in Maharashtra
TrueRE Oriana Power Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to invest approximately ₹4,500 crore in setting up an integrated green hydrogen project in the state. The agreement was signed in Mumbai on August 5, 2026.
The proposed project will comprise production facilities for green hydrogen and its downstream derivatives, including green ammonia and green methanol. The investment will be made in accordance with applicable Maharashtra government policies and implemented in a phased, time-bound manner.
Under the terms of the MoU, the Maharashtra government will facilitate the project by supporting the company in obtaining necessary approvals, permissions, registrations and statutory clearances from relevant state authorities, and will also assist in availing applicable fiscal incentives under prevailing state policies.
The Maharashtra project builds on TrueRE Oriana Power's earlier agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), signed in March 2026, for a long-term Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement covering supply of 60,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia at a discovered price of ₹52.25 per kg, valued at approximately ₹3,135 crore over 10 years. Together, the projects add to India's growing green hydrogen and green ammonia production pipeline under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
