Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd. said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that it has been granted a rolling stock contract worth approximately Rs. 350 crore for the supply of 30 coaches (Package RS3) for the Ahmedabad Metro Phase 2 project.
The city's north-south Red Line would be extended northward by 22.838 km from Motera Stadium to Mahatma Mandir via 20 new stations in Ahmedabad's 28.254 km Phase 2 and a 5.416 km offshoot from GNLU to GIFT City via 2 new stations.
Titagarh must produce the first (prototype) 3-coach train within 70 weeks (1.34 years) of the Letter of Award (LOA) and complete the 10-train-set order within 94 weeks (1.8 years) of the LOA.
GMRC had invited tenders for this crucial system contract in April 2022 funded by France’s Agence Française de Développement (AFD). Technical bids were opened in September.
I don’t have a list of bidders and their bid values for this tender, and I suspect Titagarh was the only bidder. If someone has more information, then leave a comment below or shoot me a message via the Contact page. I’d like to add it in here for record keeping.
