TEAL to put up a plant in Chennai, to expand presence in Hosur

Manufacturing  -  Jan 23,2025  -

Titan Engineering & Automation Ltd (TEAL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Group's Titan Company, is planning to establish an electronics manufacturing plant in Chennai and further expand its operations in Hosur.

The Chennai facility will focus on manufacturing electronic components, offering support, and being strategically located close to its customer base. The land for the new facility has been identified, and it will be leased, according to TEAL’s MD & CEO, NP Sridhar.

The company currently operates three units in Hosur and has acquired 10 acres of land for further expansion there.

The expansion is part of TEAL’s Rs 430-crore capital expenditure plan over the next five years, which was announced at the GIM 2024. A significant portion of this investment, Rs 200 crore, will go toward a wafer fab facility used in semiconductor manufacturing.

Sridhar also shared the company’s revenue goals for the current financial year, projecting earnings between Rs 830 crore and Rs 900 crore, compared to Rs 761 crore last fiscal. TEAL aims for annual growth of 20-25% in the coming years.

Originally founded in the 1990s as a watchmaking unit for Titan, TEAL has evolved into a key player in manufacturing and automation solutions. Today, it offers a range of high-precision component manufacturing, automation systems, and component assembly services for industries such as automotive, energy, life sciences, and consumer products.

The company is known for its turnkey assembly lines, which it designs, builds, and installs for clients worldwide, including in the auto industry and aerospace sectors.
