Infrastructure  -  Jul 14,2023  -

In order to promote MSMEs in Karnataka, Tata Technologies, a division of the Tata Group, has made a proposal to the state government to establish three Common Engineering Facilities Centres (CEFCs).

A report from the Press Trust of India estimates that the facilities will cost around Rs 2,000 crore.

As per reports, the representatives of Tata Technologies met with Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil at Vidhana Soudha to submit the proposal to set up the CEFCs.

Under the proposed plan, the engineering services company will establish the CEFCs through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Tata Technologies will own 70 per cent of the stakes, while the Karnataka government will own the remaining 30 per cent.

The Common Engineering Facilities Centres will cater to Advanced Manufacturing 4.0, Electric Vehicle Testing, and Aerospace and Defense, benefiting MSMEs and emerging startups operating in these fields.
