Tamil Nadu Signs 97 MoUs Worth Over ₹67,000 Crore at Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave 2026
The Tamil Nadu government signed 97 fresh MoUs for a total investment commitment of over ₹67,000 crore, in the presence of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay in Chennai. The MoUs were exchanged at the state's first "Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave 2026," marking a major investment milestone since the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) formed the government in May 2026.
The agreements, signed in the presence of Industries Minister S Keerthana, are expected to create employment opportunities for more than one lakh people across sectors including automotive, renewable energy, life sciences, electronics, research and development, and data centres.
According to Keerthana, the investments represent a mix of greenfield and brownfield capital, comprising both new investors entering Tamil Nadu for the first time and existing companies expanding their presence in the state.
Cumulative investment commitments during the first 100 days of the new government are expected to cross ₹1 lakh crore, generating more than 1.20 lakh job opportunities, translating to an average commitment of about ₹1,000 crore per day since the government took office.
Since the TVK government was formed, the total number of MoUs signed has reached 104, involving investments of around ₹1 lakh crore, as part of the state government's broader vision to build a $1.5 trillion economy.
