Tamil Nadu Signs 97 MoUs Worth ₹67,452 Crore At Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave 2026, Eyes 1 Lakh+ Jobs
The Tamil Nadu government inked 97 fresh MoUs for a total investment commitment of over ₹67,452 crore at the "Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave 2026," held in Chennai on August 13, in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and Industries Minister S. Keerthana. The event marked the first major investment milestone of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government since it took office in May 2026.
The 97 agreements span sectors including automotive, renewable energy, life sciences, electronics, R&D and data centres, and are expected to generate employment for more than one lakh people. Alongside the MoUs, foundation stones were laid for 8 projects worth ₹4,476 crore, expected to create 5,074 jobs, while 5 projects involving ₹2,676 crore investment and 1,550 jobs were inaugurated at the conclave.
In the life sciences sector, Trivitron Healthcare announced a ₹200 crore brownfield expansion, expected to create around 200 direct jobs while strengthening its capabilities in molecular diagnostics, intensive care and dialysis. Caplin Point Laboratories signed an MoU for a ₹925 crore investment to establish four new pharmaceutical manufacturing units in Tamil Nadu, including a biologics and biosimilars unit and a hormone injectables unit.
Genrobotics signed an MoU for a ₹150 crore investment over five years to set up a high-end robotics manufacturing base, targeting more than 1,000 jobs and positioning Tamil Nadu as a manufacturing and export hub for its robotics solutions. CellBios Healthcare & LifeSciences signed an MoU to establish greenfield manufacturing units for cell and gene therapy-based products in Dindigul and Krishnagiri, with an investment of ₹150 crore, expected to create 250 jobs. AcrannoLife Genomics announced a ₹210 crore investment for the development of molecular diagnostics, genomics and precision medicine equipment, expected to create 210 jobs.
